Week 1 - Bad Beer
"Climate change could make beer taste worse"
Denis Angelov
When it came to doing some quick sketches / thumbnails, I wanted to keep it simple so I could easily animate the final result. Attempting to find the balance between making it related to climate change and beer was the hardest part for illustrating this article.
I ended up involving the climate change to be shown through heat. The guy pours the beer onto the floor due to tasting bad and it evaporates because of the earths surface being too hot. Initially I was going to simply animate a tumbleweed to make it appear more like it’s a hot desert but decided animating the beer falling was the more better and simpler choice.
When i came back to improve my final piece, my main task was to include more people to give the impression he was at a dried up beach. I think i could of included more if i spent more time on this first article. I also upped the saturation on the colours since they seem to be duller outside of how it looks on my iPad.
Week 2 - Space Fines
“US issues first ever fine for space junk to Dish Network“
After reading the article, i wanted to continue the humorous route to keep myself entertained throughout the project. To do so in most of my ideas i had the junk in space by a random assortment of objects that wouldn't be found in space.

After my feedback, i was told to go back to the design of the astronaut and think about changing it to resemble more closely to one. Below are the redesigns i did for the astronaut which i personally think turned out pretty cute, and they were very fun to draw.
Week 3 - More Than ‘I have a headache’
“Female frogs appear to fake death to avoid unwanted advances”
During the stages of development I knew i wanted to make the last one humorous too to match the previous illustrations. Keeping in mind that a requirement was to turn it into a gif, i went in the direction of including lily pads to move around as well as rose petals.
